Lara & Matt - talk about cheesy....

On Saturday, we wrapped our very first wedding season! Our last wedding of 2009 was that of Lara & Matt, 2 love birds who met on a "blind date". Lara & Matt now live in NC, so planning a wedding in Madison wasn't exactly easy. In fact, all of our correspondence was done via email and phone, until I met the 2 at their engagement session waaaaaay back in May [right after Grayson was born], a million years ago.

Matt is an agriculture guy - and Lara is along for the ride. As such, their wedding had WI written all over it. There was quite the cheese sampler during the cocktail hour, one of the ushers [shout out to "no tie guy, Ron"] is going into the cheese making business, and Lara's pre-wedding guift to her hubby to be? Cheese cuff links.

The ceremony took place at Luther Memorial church on the UW-Madison campus. Gorgeous church. Lighting, not the best, but we made it work. After the reception, we headed to capitol square to duke it out with other wedding parties over the best area of the square to use for photos. What a great backdrop the capitol makes!

After the quick stop at capitol square, we headed over to Tenney Park, where we were the only wedding party! The park, right on a lake, was cold & breezy - but the wedding party [especially the ladies] took it like champs. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes... and headed off to the reception to watch a LARGE group of children dance phenomonally. Good times.

We hope you enjoy your preview, you two. Next time you're in town, hit us up!

married!

big, old, gorgeous church - unfortunately, we were not allowed to use the balconies [see top left of photo], and we're "not bitter" about that.

quite the large wedding party - this pic doesn't include the 2 jr bridesmaids, 3 leaf girls and ring bearer :)

would you guess this is the capitol? it makes such a nice backdrop....

also, the capitol - though I'd guess the marble steps give it away.

the beautiful bride :)

the M.O.B [far right] is in a barbershop quartet - they serenaded the bride & groom with "When I Fall in Love" and "Hooked on a Feeling" - it was awesome!
