carmela & mike - engaged :)

We shot Mike & Carmela's engagement session at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This shoot was a challenge - you never realize how dark the Streets of Old Milwaukee are, until you see them from behind a camera. BUT, we are ALWAYS up for a challenge...

We wandered the Streets of Old Mil for a bit, then hit up the butterfly exhibit [a little easier to shoot in!] - butterflies galore - and friendly ones at that. Surprisingly, Jen did not have a complete meltdown when one landed on her :)

Mike & Carmela are such a cute couple. The way they interact with one another, their love just radiates. Plus, they are super fun - Mike had great suggestions for some pretty funny shots, all the while Carmela giggled. Love it.

After our newbie shoot, we were off to Grafton for Katie & Craig's engagement shoot. Little Miss Olivia, Craig's daughter, was TOO cute - not to mention, such a trooper for following us around outside in the freezing cold.

So... we were told to wear shoes for trekkin' through the snow in their backyard. However, we had no idea what we were in store for until we started down the hill [aka mountain]. Let's just say it was easier to slide down on our behinds than to walk down on foot risking injury to our precious camera equipment :) All was incredible when we got to the bottom and saw just why they chose this place for their photos.

Kristin & "Bob" - engagement session

Kristin & Andy (aka "Bob") are fellow B-towners. We were so excited when they contacted us to shoot their wedding, and even more excited when Kristin asked if it would be ok if they brought a wardrobe change along for their engagement session [NOTE TO FUTURE COUPLES: This is ALWAYS ok!].

These 2 made the trek to Milwaukee for their session, which was awesome, because we were able to use the lobby of the Crowne Plaza for the session. The good people at the CP were more than happy to oblige - and let us pretty much have free run of their lobby... and a small plus - that place is very newly remodeled and AWESOME. If you're looking for a wedding venue - seriously, check it out.

Andy, Kristin - we hope you enjoy your preview. We are SUPER psyched for next October. Can't wait to see how the vintage theme makes it into the wedding :)

Anabell & Luis Engagement - all around the MAM.

After some [much needed] Turkey Day R&R, we met up with Anabell & Luis at the Milwaukee Art Museum on Friday afternoon. 'Twas yet another beautiful November day!!

After dating for 6 years, these two are finally tying the knot. We made the rounds of the art museum looking for some not so conventional spots to gobble up [get it?! get it?!]. Sure did help to have such a good lookin' couple :) We kept talking about how beautiful of a bride that Ana is going to be on her big day - might have embarassed her a little... and now we've embarassed her via our blog. SORRY!

Jessi & Mitch - adventures in the Ward

On Sunday, we had an engagement session for Jessi & Mitch. Mitch is a fellow Beloiter [B-TOWN!], so we go waaaaay back! [Can I get a NINETY-NINE!] Ok, I'm done...

We met up with these two at Raterra, ahem, Alterra in the Fifth Ward. [Are people getting that reference? Well, if you wanna know, just ask...]. Initially, we planned to hit up our "go-to" spot, BUT the weather was decent and these 2 were game, so instead... we wandered around. And we are SO glad we did - we found so many wonderful spots. The Third/Fifth Ward area is such a gem, we definitely need to utilize it more often!

We're super excited for Jessi & Mitch's wedding because they are our first couple who've agreed to some photos pre-ceremony... we can't wait to get shots of their first glimpse of eachother all decked out! And speaking of first glimpses - enjoy your preview, y'all.

Jenny, remember to remind me that we need to hit up this store :)

Jenny & Ryan - a hike around Grant Park!

On Saturday, we hit up one of our favorite spots, Grant Park, for Jenny & Ryan’s engagement session. We arrived a bit early [:)], and took a lap around the park to scope out some “new” ideas before the the lovebirds showed up. Talk about a perfect fall day! Not only did we find a number of new places to shoot, we got to enjoy one of the last days of light jacket weather. Fingers crossed for similar conditions next November for the wedding!

As you will see in the photos, Jenny & Ryan both have amazing, vibrant blue eyes. Not to jump the gun, but these two are gonna make some beautiful babies someday!

Jenny - a special shout out for any confusion that is caused by having the same name as one of your photographers :) Enjoy the preview you two!!

Maggie & Michael - all the way from D.C.

On Saturday, we headed to our "special spot" (once again!) for Maggie & Michael's engagement session. These two are attorneys from Washington D.C. We'd really like to say, "they flew in all the way from D.C. just to have US take their engagement photos!!" Well - it's kinda true... they had a family wedding in the area to attend as well :)

We asked Maggie to see if she couldn't dig up an old chair from her mom's house, and to bring it with for the shoot. Some might think this is weird, but we had a vision, and it worked out rather well (see below)!

Jenny & Nathan: A Knight's Tale...

On Sunday we lucked out with unbelievably gorgeous weather and had and engagement session with Jenny & Nathan. This was our first time meeting Jenny, however, we had already met with Nathan to discuss business as he drove all the way from Madison for our initial meeting - BY HIMSELF. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. This groom-to-be was given a task, and came prepared, [2] books in hand, throwing out more detailed questions about our photog policies than we'd ever heard before. Jenny - you've picked yourself a winner :)

The day turned out to be super fun, and we goofed around quite a bit! We even had our own "Role Models" moment [have you seen the movie? well... those are the kind of movies we're into...] when we ran into some knights mid-battle in the park. Strange, to say the least, but Jenny & Nathan [being a couple who appreciate the silly things in life] thought it would be AWESOME to have an engagement photo with knights in the background. Our kind of people :)
