Friday - we were lucky enough to celebrate the wedding of Sarah & Odi. SUCH a fun couple - and a super fun wedding party to boot! Ceremony was held at Trinity Lutheran in Caledonia. When we arrived, both the guys & ladies were already dressed, which gave us plenty of time for pre-ceremony pics. Jen stayed hidden away with Sarah, while I ran around with the guys, made them play in the road... you know, the usual.
My favorite part of the pre-ceremony "wait", was a brief encounter I had with the father of the bride. I was heading over to check in on the ladies, and ran into dad waiting outside the room where the girls were "hiding". The door had a window, and dad was watching from the outside... I looked in and saw Addison, the bride's little niece running around. We'd done Addy's 6 month photos, and I commented on what a cutie she is. Dad asked me if I was married - I told him I was and that we were just about to celebrate our little Grayson's 1st birthday. He responded "wait until your kids have kids - there's nothing like it". I was so overwhelmed by how cute that was... later, Sarah's mom confirmed that being a grandparent is, in many ways, better than being a parent, because you have time to slow down and enjoy it more. I'd never thought about it that way :)
But I digress... post-ceremony, we went to Forest Hill cemetery in South Milwaukee, which also happens to be a historical landmark, with plenty o' cool old-timey buildings [including an outhouse], and to the South Milwaukee train depot. Both EXCELLENT places [for any of you SM couples, or families looking for locales!], GREAT suggestions, Sarah! The wedding party was so laid back, down for whatever, and great to work with - except for maybe Monty, who came up to us and said "Take my picture" so many times I lost count. Hahaha.
Enjoy your preview, guys... sorry for the delay [Mom... worth the wait?]
ladies. waiting.
odi
ok, so when the flowers arrived, the guys couldn't get anyone to help put them on... so, they decided to do it themselves... as Kris was pinning Odi's flower, he literally said "Don't stab me in the heart, ok?"
tough guys.
Addy - she was napping on the way to church :)
the hand off.
the kiss
so far, one of my faves.

the wedding party painted the back window of the limo while they were waiting for us to finish up pics
